Editorial Reviews:
Synopsis
Upgrade Windows or Linux based desktops with two additional Super Speed USB 3.0 capable ports.

System Requirements

One free standard or low profile PCI Express x1 slot (package includes brackets for both). Card supplies USB power for most devices without additional power connection, but for full 1.8A power across both ports, connect 4-pin Molex cable from your PC power supply. Package also includes a SATA to molex cable for desktop with only SATA power connectors available.

Operating systems

Drivers for Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 (32/64-bit) included on CDROM. Drivers built in to Windows 8 (no install required). Open source Linux support which recognizes this card is present in kernels 2.6.35+. Mac OS X is not supported at this time.

Performance

Theoretical maximum speed of USB 3.0 is 5Gbs and PCIe 1x is 4Gbs. Practical speeds vary by device, but the current generation of devices usually won't exceed 2 Gbps.

In the box

PCIe card, driver disk, both standard and low profile brackets, and SATA to molex power converter cable.
